Diablo 4’s Loot Reborn season saw the introduction of Profane Mindcages, coinciding with a significant Helltide overhaul. These mindcages function similarly to Elixirs, providing a boost to experience gain in Helltides. Where to Obtain Profane Mindcage in Diablo 4 Season 4
Acquired from Helltide events, Profane Mindcages are an exclusive consumable that functions similarly to elixirs by increasing the level of enemies in Helltides and providing a boost to experience gained. By consuming a Profane Mindcage, all monsters in Helltide events will gain 10 additional levels and drop an increased amount of Aberrant Cinders. This increase in monster levels translates to a higher amount of experience gained, and the additional drops of Aberrant Cinders can be used to open more valuable chests such as the Living Steel chest, which requires 275 Aberrant C
The Profane Mindcages can be obtained by defeating Hellborne enemies of tier three or higher, which can be summoned by filling the Helltide meter located below the Aberrant Cinder and Baneful Heart icons.
Once the meter is full, you will be confronted with a group of Hellborne enemies who will spawn and attack you at your current location. The meter will then gradually decrease until it is completely empty, upon which the final Hellborne elite will appear and drop a single Profane Mindcage.
Farming these Profane Mindcages is a challenging task as you must first fill up the meter before the elite Hellborne enemy can be spawned.
Here are a few tips to assist you in obtaining additional Profane Mindcages:
- You must defeat the enemies in order to fill up the meter, so it is recommended to participate in Helltide events like the Baneful Heart Altars to do so.
- Promote group participation to allow other players the opportunity to also fill their meters and summon their own Hellborne foe.
- In Helltides, it is advisable to defeat as many elites, including the Maiden boss, as you can, as there is a low probability of obtaining Profane Mindcages.
When you consume a Profane Mindcage, you will gain a buff that will last for an hour, similar to the elixirs. However, if you happen to die, the effect will be lost. This buff encourages cautious gameplay in order to conserve your supply of Profane Mindcages. On the plus side, the buff’s duration is perfect for a Helltide event in a specific region, allowing you to collect a significant amount of Aberrant Cinders. Use these cinders to open Helltide chests and acquire more Baneful Hearts, which can be used to activate additional events.
