Supergiant Games added Star Dust as one of the rarest ingredients in Hades 2, making it a newly introduced element in the sequel. Obtaining Star Dust is crucial for the newly added Chaos Trials, and here’s how to acquire it in Hades 2.
Finding Star Dust in Hades 2
After finishing the initial stages of the game, you will gain access to the Chaos Trials. However, unlocking this feature requires meeting certain requirements and can be time-consuming. The Chaos Trials consist of multiple individual challenges. Upon successfully completing a trial for the first time, you will receive Star Dust as a reward.
Moreover, the Wretched Broker will now offer Star Dust for purchase (as long as you have completed at least one Chaos Trial). The cost for one unit is 800 bones, making it quite expensive. Thus, finishing the Chaos Trials is an effective method for obtaining Star Dust. However, each trial has its own conditions, and certain ones can be particularly challenging.
Unlocking Chaos Trials in Hades 2
To acquire a significant amount of Star Dust, you must have access to Chaos Trials. Follow these steps to gain entry.
- Brew the Abyssal Night incantation, which unlocks the Pitch-Black Stone in Training Grounds.
Regrettably, it remains uncertain when exactly Chaos will provide you with the necessary recipe to create this incantation. You will need to interact with Chaos multiple times for sure. Numerous players have shared that they successfully obtained all five nocturnal arms and concocted the necessary incantation to unlock aspects. Moreover, giving Nectar gifts to Chaos may also aid in this process (although it is not confirmed if this is a mandatory step).
The instructions for the Abyssal Night incantation are as follows:
- 2x Fate Fabric – Buy from Wretched Broker
- 2x Pearl – Scylla and Siren drops
- 2x Moly – Found in Erebus
- 2x Nightshade—These must be grown in your garden. The seeds are available in Erebus, and they require the Silver Spade tool.
Initially, you will have access to three distinct Chaos Trials which you must conquer. As you successfully complete them, additional trials will become available, with each one progressively more difficult.
