Hogwarts Legacy follows the adventures of a young fifth-year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players will be given the opportunity to explore the game’s globe to their hearts’ content shortly after the main plot begins, but not all regions are easily accessible.
One such place may be found just across from the Headmaster’s Office. Engaging with this door without the necessary item will result in it remaining closed, therefore players will need to find another way to unlock it. Nevertheless, because Hogwarts Legacy does not specifically specify what is necessary to access this door, some players may struggle to locate the solution.
How to Locate the Door Adjacent to the Headmaster’s Office
If players haven’t already discovered the Headmaster’s Office, they won’t know where to look for the closed door adjacent to it. Fast-travel to the Trophy Room above The Grand Staircase, turn right, and walk through the gate at the end of the corridor to get there.
The player should then proceed forward, ascend the spiraling staircase to the very top, and turn right. They will find a door with a sophisticated lock there, but Alohomora will not open it. Instead, players must locate and get the Key of Admittance, a one-of-a-kind object that can only be gained from the Headmaster’s Office.
How to Locate the Admittance Key
To get entry to the Headmaster’s Office, the player must first unlock and finish the first phase of Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial. However, the Key of Admittance is really located in the room above the Headmaster’s Office, therefore entering the office isn’t necessary to collect the key.
If the Flying Class quest has been finished, players may quickly approach the Headmaster’s Office by flying their broom to the tower’s balcony and landing on the little ladder beside the door. They should then ascend the stairs until they reach the door with the Level 3 Lock. To breach the lock, they must first collect the most powerful form of Alohomora by completing The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament and then locate 22 Demiguise statues scattered across the planet.
The Key of Admittance may be discovered on the table on the right-hand side once this door has been unlocked and the stairs behind it have been ascended.
How to Unlock the Door Next to the Principal’s Office
Those who received the Key of Admittance by flying to the Headmaster’s Office need return to the Trophy Room and walk back to the locked door, while those who already have entry to the office can just return to the entrance. As you reach the far end of the corridor, just interact with the closed door to unlock it using the Key of Admittance.
Climbing the stairs on the other side of the door will take the player to a chamber with the Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance Field Guide Page, as well as a chest with the Botanical – Bronze Leaf wand handle and another with the Cabinets decorative item.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will be available on April 4, while the Switch version will be available on July 25.
