How to Quickly Complete Sunny Meadows Survival in Phasmophobia

In Phasmophobia, players encounter many “grindy” quests that require repetitively completing tasks in designated areas to earn rewards. The Sunny Meadows Survival challenge, introduced during the Halloween Blood Moon event in 2024, is an example of such a task, demanding players to successfully complete a specific objective 50 times. That translates to numerous ghost-hunting sessions! Here’s an effective strategy to conquer the Sunny Meadows Survival challenge swiftly, allowing you to earn that coveted Asylum ID card and badge in no time.

To complete the Sunny Meadows Survival challenge, players need to accurately identify the ghost while surviving the encounter, ideally within the Sunny Meadows Mental Institution (the smaller version works well). Accomplishing this task 50 times will reward you with the Asylum ID card and badge.

There’s no bypass for this challenge; you must engage with the map in a standard gameplay manner. Consider playing in multiplayer mode and joining someone else’s game where the same map and objective are being pursued.

Alternatively, a quicker, albeit less engaging, method is to tackle the challenge solo.

If playing solo is your preference due to a lack of companions for the challenge, learning the map and its mechanics will expedite your success.

The Sunny Meadows Mental Institution comes in two forms: the standard and the restricted. Opting for the restricted version, which is notably smaller, will still contribute to your challenge progress. This map is better suited for solo players, as the larger original version can be overwhelming for one.

Recommended setup:

  • Basic Equipment (free)
  • 1x Sanity Restoration Item

This setup is generally sufficient, but feel free to enhance your gear with items like a more effective flashlight or a high-quality video camera.

The layout of the restricted version consists of a simple lobby and two adjoining rooms upon entering. Proceed straight to find the altar room. These areas remain constant, however, the restricted version features three layouts: one with an open basement leading to a long hallway with several rooms, another long hallway to the left of the altar room, and a third leading right.

In essence, a lengthy hallway filled with multiple rooms is a consistent feature that you should examine in each game.

The approach:

  • Acquire a video camera, a notebook, and a spirit box.
  • Utilize the video camera as you navigate through each room, searching for ghost orbs within the compact Sunny Meadows map (make sure to ask, “Can you give us a sign?” to encourage the ghost to act).
  • If a ghost orb is detected, place the notebook on the ground and switch to the spirit box to attempt communication with the apparition.
  • If no ghost orb appears, revert to the spirit box and attempt to interact with the ghost while heading back to the van.
  • By now, you should have a solid lead on the ghost’s location; gather your DOTS Projector, UV light, and thermometer to find three additional pieces of evidence.
  • Employ all your tools inside the ghost’s area, collect the required evidence, and exit quickly.

In the final trio of steps, your Phasmophobia experience becomes invaluable as you analyze hints beyond your primary tools. For instance, if the ghost hurls multiple objects, it might be a Poltergeist. Additionally, you can consult our cheat sheet to help familiarize yourself with certain mechanics.

When you inquire, “Can you give us a sign?” , the ghost will eventually react, potentially through actions like object throwing, whispering, or manipulating doors and lights. Once you witness any paranormal activity, rush to the location and use the UV Light to search for Ultraviolet evidence—one of the easiest types to acquire.

The aim of the above strategy is to consistently secure ghost orb evidence while prompting a spirit box response. Thoroughly scanning all rooms with your video camera allows you to confidently eliminate ghost orbs if they fail to appear. Since you’re playing solo, using the spirit box is more effective as the ghost is compelled to engage even if it typically only interacts with solitary players.

Once you’ve confirmed these two pieces of evidence, obtaining the remaining ones becomes much easier. The EMF Reader may pose a challenge, which is why it’s not emphasized in the initial strategy; however, it can be beneficial if you wish to extract all evidence. If you’re having difficulty collecting more evidence, consider using sanity restoration pills to prevent the ghost from initiating hunts.

Adopting this strategy will likely secure an 80-90% success rate in identifying the ghost, while each match could be completed in less than 10 minutes (sometimes even under 5 minutes).
