Despite encountering technical issues that may have hindered the experience, the release of Wuthering Waves has been largely successful on both PC and mobile. Some users have reported seeing a flashing black square on the left side of the screen when hovered over, but this is not a game-related issue. We will provide a solution on how to fix this black square bug in Wuthering Waves.
Fixing the Wuthering Waves Black Square Bug
The reported black square on the left side of the screen is actually the NVIDIA Reflex Indicator, which can be disabled in GeForce Experience by users.
The appearance of the “visual bug”can be seen in the following way:
In order to disable the black square, please follow the steps outlined below.
- Open GeForce Experience from the taskbar or Windows search
- Select Settings, followed by Performance Monitoring
- Here, toggle off the “Always Show Reflex Flash Indicator”
That’s all it takes, and you won’t see the black square in-game next time.
- To access the setting while using the NVIDIA App, simply open the NVIDIA overlay with the default shortcut of Alt + Z.
- At the bottom, select Statistics, followed by Reflex Analyzer
- Here, toggle off the “LDAT Support” option
Simply follow these steps and hopefully the black square/box will no longer be visible. We understand how distracting it can be and how difficult it was to identify the root cause. Additionally, Wuthering Waves supports NVIDIA Reflex, so we suggest turning it on in the game’s settings.
In order to enhance your experience with Wuthering Waves, we suggest disabling chromatic aberration to improve the clarity of the images. Furthermore, if you are experiencing any difficulties with your controllers, we have provided recommended solutions to resolve these issues.
