Given the abundance of choices in Frostpunk 2, we understand if you wish to retry or restart certain scenarios. Luckily, we have done the research and compiled our findings into this helpful guide for your convenience.
Can You Replay Story Scenarios in Frostpunk 2? Explained
Although there is no specific option to replay particular chapters or story segments in Frostpunk 2, you can reload your saved games to experience them again.
Every in-game year or so, before major decisions like choosing to embrace or defeat the Frost, the game automatically saves your progress. You can then select Load Game when starting Frostpunk 2 and resume from that saved point.
However, remember that these autosaves may not be available if you begin a fresh run. Therefore, we suggest making your own hard saves at the start of each chapter or whenever a Circle event icon appears on the map. These icons signal significant choices and scenarios that can alter your narrative in several ways.
Can You Replay Chapters? Answered
The same principle applies to replaying chapters in Frostpunk 2.
While you can access a brief summary of each chapter from the Story tab in the main menu, you cannot jump into a specific chapter during an active playthrough. At best, you can continue from your most recent chapter, which will load your latest autosave.
Instead, you must load an autosave or hard save created during that particular chapter, allowing you to proceed as usual.
Though this may not be ideal, it fits within the game’s design philosophy. 11 Bit Studios encourages players to make meaningful choices and face their consequences, which leads to the diverse scenarios available in the game. If you consistently save and reload decisions, you may detract from the overall experience.
