To snap to the world grid in Satisfactory, hold left Ctrl while constructing a foundation in build mode to activate snap mode. This will align the hologram with the world grid, allowing you to place the foundation piece correctly.
Snapping to the world grid ensures your foundation is perfectly aligned to the cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West). This alignment is visually represented with a perfect 90° angle above the foundation.
Shortcuts are displayed during the build mode UI, and functions are highlighted when activated.
This method serves as your world grid marker, allowing you to plan your factory and structures accordingly. An added advantage of this building technique is the ability to connect more distant structures to your primary foundation with perfect alignment.
