The quest A Light in the Dark is a scenario in which you will accompany Alleria, Anduin, and Faerin. Unfortunately, this scenario is prone to bugs that may prevent you from completing it. Your first task is to light two braziers, but there have been reports of Faerin not being able to do so when you interact with them. This issue seems to occur when her Call to Aid ability is used shortly before attempting to light the brazier. As with other glitches in this scenario, the only solution is to leave the instance and try again, in the hopes of avoiding the same issue.
Other Potential Problems
One potential issue you may encounter is the possibility of not having your Hope Meter refilled when you revive at your body after dying. This will teleport you back to the ship, resulting in having to redo the part you were previously working on. While this problem may not always prevent you from completing the scenario, it can certainly be frustrating.
In conclusion, the problems I encountered included the NPCs not accompanying me to the Broken Queen and the cutscene in the priory’s interior not loading correctly. It appeared that jumping down to face the enemy caused the NPCs to stop following me, and I had to backtrack in order for them to catch up and continue on to the Broken Queen.
Entering the cutscene too quickly can cause a glitch in this section. I did not allow Faerin to finish her dialogue at the top of the stairs before entering. As a result, I found myself in the regular room of the Priory of the Sacred Flame dungeon. To fix this glitch, I had to run back to the entrance and trigger the cutscene from behind, which allowed it to play properly.
Upon reaching the conclusion of the scenario, regardless of any challenges encountered along the way, you will complete the main campaign. Afterward, you will engage in conversations with a few NPCs and anticipate the release of additional campaign quests in the future.
However, this still explains the steps to successfully finish a Light in the Dark quest in WoW: The War Within. Despite some glitches, it is still feasible to successfully complete it.
