Choosing the perfect team of Pokemon is crucial in winning the upcoming battle, which is anticipated to be one of the toughest yet.

Start Date/Time
The Dondozo Tera Raids will take place in the Paldea region of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet from July 25, 2024, starting at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET / 1 AM BST / 12 AM GMT (July 26) and will continue until August 8, 2024, ending at 4:59 PM PT / 7:59 PM ET / 11:59 PM GMT / 12:59 AM BST (August 9).

Best Dondozo 7-Star Tera Raid Counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Appletun
Appletun excels in both offense and defense.
Appletun’s 100 Special Attack stat and diverse moveset make it the top choice for countering Dondozo Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Apple Acid is the preferred attack as it not only inflicts damage, but also lowers Dondozo’s Special Defense by one stage. This makes defeating the Raid Boss a simpler task.
Appletun is able to handle Dondozo’s Physical attacks, which are typically worrisome, thanks to its Iron Defense move. This move increases its Defense by two stages. Additionally, Appletun’s combination of Grass and Dragon types provide a strong resistance against Water-type attacks.
The move Grassy Terrain is highly beneficial, as it not only has a passive healing effect during battle, but also increases the damage dealt by Apple Acid.
To successfully face Dondozo, only these three moves are necessary. However, incorporating Reflect as the fourth move can be beneficial as it reduces the impact of Physical moves by half, benefiting both you and your allies.
Cacturne
Cacturne hits hard but isn’t bulky, so its moves should account for its defenses.
The cunning Cacturne possesses a range of tactics that allow it to resist Dondozo’s abilities. One of its key advantages is its Water Absorb ability, which restores 25% of its maximum HP and renders it immune to Water-type attacks. This makes it a valuable asset against the Water Tera Type Raid Boss.
Additionally, Cacturne supports its allies by utilizing Sunny Day to diminish the impact of Water-type attacks. In terms of offensive options, Nasty Plot significantly boosts its Special Attack, enhancing the strength of moves such as Giga Drain. It is important to note that this move also replenishes HP.
In addition, Spiky Shield not only protects against all Physical attacks, but also inflicts 12% damage on the Raid Boss. This can be crucial in countering Dondozo’s other abilities.

Additionally, this Raid Boss boasts an immense Defense stat of 115 and a formidable 150 HP. However, its Special Defense is a bit lacking at only 65. Therefore, it is recommended to utilize Special Attackers in order to defeat it.
Where to find Dondozo Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
In order to participate in the 7-Star event, look for Black Crystals shining on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet map as these indicate the presence of Dondozo Tera Raids. Visiting these locations will allow you to join in on the event.

Dondozo 7-Star Tera Raid Rewards
Completing Dondozo Tera Raids will provide you with a variety of items that can be used to strengthen your Pokemon for battle or sold at in-game shops. As with previous battles, we anticipate obtaining rewards such as Herba Mystica, Tera Shards, TMs, and other items that will be announced once the event starts.
When you come back to Paldea for the 7-Star event, be sure to discover the methods for obtaining Herba Mystica and incorporating them into sandwich recipes. This will increase your chances of encountering shiny Pokemon in both Scarlet and Violet versions.
