  • The completion must take place at 6 Tanglewood Drive.
  • Setting up does not have a grace period.
  • Your sanity begins at 100 percent.

  • The Music Box Cursed Possession is constantly accessible for use.
  • You are able to find three pieces of evidence.
  • If the ghost kills one of your team, the hunt ends.

The following is a list of the equipment that will be available to you for this challenge:

  • Tier 1: Firelight, Incense, Salt, Crucifix, UV Light, Video Camera, and Sanity Meds.
  • Tier 2: DOTS Projector, Photo Camera, Thermometer, Writing Book, EMF, and Spirit Box.

Tips for Completing Lights Out

In this mode, your mental well-being will be at risk, therefore it is important to quickly locate the ghost room. Here are some tips to help you find it and be successful in this mode:

Learn the Map in a Different Mode

Despite the lack of light and limited resources to aid with visibility, it is fortunate that Tanglewood is a relatively small map, making it easier to maneuver if one is familiar with it.

It is recommended to first try it out in one of the lower difficulties to gain a good understanding of it. This will allow you to navigate around the house, even without sight.

Scope out Hiding Places

The crib in the baby room makes for a nice hiding spot.

To start off, it is important to locate potential hiding spots while indoors. This is especially crucial if you encounter a ghost during the early stages of a hunt, as you will need to be prepared to escape quickly if you are caught off guard.

These are all the hiding spots in Tanglewood:

  • A closet in the entrance corridor.
  • There are two lockers in the garage.
  • Behind some boards at the rear of the lower level.
  • A closet in the blue room on the left side of the house.
  • A closet in the corridor next to the baby room.
  • Behind the crib in the baby room.

In addition, the counter in the kitchen can be utilized to loop the ghost. If needed, you can also hide from the ghost by crouching behind the counter. However, remember to move away from it if it enters the kitchen.

It should be noted that not all of these hiding spots will be accessible during this mode, as certain ones will be obstructed.

Find the ghost room quickly

The temperature of the ghost room is consistently lower than the rest of the house, and it is known to cause objects to move, making it an ideal location for detecting EMF readings. When you locate the room, set up your equipment.

If you’re feeling particularly courageous, you can also utilize the Music Box to pinpoint the ghost’s location. As the music plays, the ghost will join in and you’ll be able to determine its whereabouts. Just be aware that dropping the box will trigger a hunt, so it’s important to find a hiding spot promptly.

Walk Around with a Firelight & Camera

Walking around with the camera can show you where you’re going.

In this mode, firelights are very useful as they reduce the rate at which your sanity decreases while in the dark. They can also be placed in the room you’re in to achieve the same result.

Just take care when dealing with an Onryo, as they will relentlessly pursue you after they have extinguished a Firelight three times.

A camera is a useful tool for walking around the house in the dark. By opening it and setting it to dark mode, you can easily navigate and see clearly through the small screen.

Know Your Ghosts and Manage Your Sanity

Firelights help manage your sanity in the dark.

It can be challenging to gather certain pieces of evidence, such as EMF readings, which can lead to frustration. In these scenarios, it is easy to become overwhelmed and consistently hunted by whatever is causing the disturbance.

Some ghosts possess unique abilities that can help identify them, even if you haven’t collected all the evidence yet. For instance, a Shade will refrain from hunting or causing any paranormal activity while you’re in the room where it resides, while a Revenant will move at a much faster pace when it detects your presence, but will be sluggish otherwise.

To avoid constantly being pursued, it is important to take care of your mental state. Keep Firelights on hand and use Sanity Medication to lessen its effects. Alternatively, you can keep an eye out for DOTS and Ghost Orbs by placing a video camera and relaxing in the van.

Phasmophobia offers enjoyable challenges, but for those seeking even more terror, you can explore all the details we have on the highly anticipated remaster of Silent Hill 2 and the future plans for A Quiet Place.
