How to Capture a Wild Pokemon in Pokemon GO

In order to capture a photo of a wild Pokemon in Pokemon GO, you must access Photo Mode by tapping on a Pokemon that you encounter. To enter Photo Mode, follow these instructions:

  • To capture a snapshot of a Pokemon, simply tap on it.
  • Before throwing a Pokeball at the creature, be sure to click on the Camera icon at the top of the screen. This will take you to Photo Mode, where you can capture a snapshot of the creature. Failure to do so will result in not being able to take a snapshot.
  • To take a snapshot in Photo Mode, simply click on the Camera icon located at the bottom of the screen.
  • Afterward, you will be presented with the choice to either save or delete the photo. To save the photo, simply click on the tick mark located at the bottom right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can click on the trash icon at the bottom left corner of the screen to delete the snapshot.

  • When using the camera, you will notice footprints on different surfaces. Place your Pokemon in these locations by clicking on the footprints, ensuring that the area is free of any other objects for the app to accurately detect the flat surface.
  • To capture a snapshot of your Pokemon on the surface, simply tap the Camera icon located at the bottom of the screen. You can also interact with your Pokemon by clicking on them to see their emotions.

If you feel that you have misplaced your Pokemon and would like to relocate it, simply select the arrow pointing at a Pokeball in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will return the Pokemon to its Pokeball, allowing you to choose a new location for a more improved snapshot.
