How to Transform Your Character in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Guide

The latest installment in the franchise, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, boasts an impressive lineup of 181 characters available for play right from the start, with several having the ability to undergo transformations.

Understanding Transformation Mechanics in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

To initiate a transformation in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you must first increase your Skill Counter. This counter can be found in the top left corner, just below your character’s avatar. After filling the gauge, you will obtain one Skill Counter, which is essential for transforming. A blue arrow icon appearing next to your character avatar indicates that the character is prepared for transformation.

Once you’ve acquired a Skill Counter, check for the blue arrow next to your avatar. When it appears, press the D-pad up or hit R3/RS to access the menu and select the desired transformation for your character.

You will typically encounter one or two options for transformation, with some characters possessing three forms that can be unlocked through skill points. However, it’s important to note that not every character is capable of transforming; for instance, Krillin and Videl are among those who lack transformation abilities within the game.

Additionally, transformations are not permitted during Episode Battles. In story mode, transformations occur automatically during matches, leaving you without control over them. Transformations can only be executed in Multiplayer and alternative modes.

Transformations serve as an excellent means to enhance your character’s stats during gameplay and unlock unique abilities and skills. You also have the option to start the match with the strongest form of your character, but this will require more points than using the base form and will not provide the same boost you would receive from transforming mid-battle. Furthermore, transforming in front of an opponent not only raises your character’s power, instilling a sense of confidence, but also adds an exciting visual element to the fight.
