How to Unlock 30 FPS Limit in Final Fantasy XVI PC Cutscenes

Final Fantasy XVI has finally launched on PC after more than a year of exclusivity on PS5. While the PC version offers various settings to tweak, it comes with some peculiar decisions, such as cutscenes and photo mode being capped at 30 FPS. If you want to unlock the 30 FPS limit during cutscenes in Final Fantasy XVI, you can do so using Lyall’s fantastic patch.

The patch by Lyall not only addresses ultrawide screen issues in Final Fantasy XVI but also removes the 30 FPS cap tied to cutscenes.

Installing this patch is straightforward. Just follow these steps:

  • Extract the zip file into the game’s installation folder

Once you’ve completed these steps, the cutscenes will no longer be restricted to 30 FPS, significantly enhancing the transition from gameplay.

In addition to removing the FPS cap, this patch also allows you to modify the field of view, enable frame generation during cutscenes, and add motion blur effects. You can customize these additional features by editing the FFXVIFix.ini file with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++.
