During your gameplay of Deadlock, you may have come across Flex Slots, which the game doesn’t explicitly mention. Without any clear explanation of what they are, we’re here to offer assistance and guide you on how to unlock them.
Since Valve has now recognized Deadlock, the game is generating a lot of excitement as the hero shooter MOBA continues to climb up the Steam rankings during its closed Alpha stage.
Despite being fortunate enough to have access to the game, you may have noticed that it is quite complex and includes numerous mechanics and details that are not explicitly explained to players. These may include the mid-boss rejuvenator and Flex Slots.
To achieve this goal, we will provide an explanation of what Flex Slots are and the methods for unlocking them in a game.
What are Flex Slots in Deadlock?
Flex Slots are additional item slots that can be filled with any type of item you desire.
In the game, there are four slots that can be unlocked. These slots can be filled with either a Weapon, Vitality, or Spirit item to provide additional buffs for their respective categories.
There are four extra Flex Slots to the right of the other item slots
This allows you to purchase additional items for increased damage or sustain, giving you a competitive advantage against your opponents.
One limitation of Flex slots is that they only apply to active items. This means that if you already have four active items, you are unable to obtain any more items from that specific category.
Unlocking All Four Flex Slots in Deadlock: A Step-by-Step Guide
To unlock each of the four Flex Slots, unique conditions must be met. Therefore, below are all of the conditions:
- Slot 1: Unlocked after your team destroys an enemy Walker
- Slot 2: Unlocked after your team destroys all enemy Walkers
- Slot 3: Unlocked after your team destroys a set of enemy Base Guardians
- Slot 4: Unlocked after your team destroys an enemy Shrine
It is important to mention that completing just one of the objectives by a single person will result in unlocking it for the entire team. Therefore, this serves as an encouragement to assist your team members in order to obtain Flex Slots at a quicker pace.
Taking down a Walker will net your team a Flex Slot
In order to maximize your ability to unlock them, it is recommended to defeat an enemy Walker first. Therefore, if a Tower in a teammate’s lane has recently been destroyed, it is advisable to rotate and assist in taking down the Walker quickly.
After defeating the Walker, you can continue pushing into the lane and defeat the Base Guardians at the end of the lane to earn an additional Flex Slot.
As you may have noticed, the initial two objectives are meant for mid-game – eliminating all Walkers and a Shrine – while the remaining two Flex Slots are more suitable for the late game.
