Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to unlock Mulan and Mushu
Completing the A New Recruit Quest
- Unlock the Mulan Realm
To locate Mushu and Mulan, the Mulan Realm must be unlocked. The entrance to the Realm is located on the third floor of the Main Castle. Once there, you will need to spend 15,000 Dreamlight to open the door and enter.
2. Tidy up the campsite
Following your exploration of the Realm, you will come across a chaotic camp. Mushu will then request your assistance in breaking rocks and excavating spilled rice with your Pickaxe. Additionally, you will be tasked with flipping over the cauldron.
Gather your Training Uniform
Mushu instructs you to search the entire Realm for the pieces of your Training Uniform after the camp cleanup.
- Training Pants
- Training Shirt
- Training Shoes
- Training Socks
The Training Pants can be found hanging on a tree outside the gates, while the Training Shirt is located inside one of the tents. Both the Training Shoes and the Training Socks can be found in different locations; the shoes are placed on a rock near the stream, while the socks are stored in a tent close to the fire.
As you search for your Training Uniform, gather any other shiny materials like flowers and wood. These will come in handy for the next quest.
4. Prepare breakfast for Mulan
Once you have donned your Training Uniform, Mushu requests that you prepare a bowl of his famous Mushu’s Congee for Mulan’s breakfast. If you do not have the necessary ingredients already, you can locate them on a nearby table within the Realm.
- x1 Rice
- x1 Egg
- x1 Mushroom
- x1 Garlic
- x1 Ginger
Go to the fire to prepare Mushu’s Congee, and then sound the gong to wake Mulan up for her breakfast.
How to Complete the A Dragon Army Quest
- Search for Mushu’s Dragon Statue materials
After serving Mulan her breakfast, Mushu instructs you to retrieve a list of materials needed to construct his Dragon Statues. The following items must be collected:
- x50 Camp Mud
- x3 Buckets of Water
- x10 Firewood
- x10 Red Spider Lilies
- x5 Chrysanthemums
- x10 Dream Shards
Camp Mud bears a strong resemblance to Clay and can be excavated using a shovel by digging in the circular muddy patches scattered throughout the Realm. Buckets of Water can be located along the river that flows through the Realm, so be sure to keep an eye out for them along the banks.
You will come across Firewood on the ground, which looks like typical Valley wood. While searching for Mud and flowers, you should be able to gather enough Firewood from the ground. The same applies to the Red Spider Lilies and Chrysanthemums, which are scattered throughout the Realm on the ground.
Finally, Dream Shards can be exclusively found in the traditional Valley. Once you have collected all the necessary resources, use them to craft the dragons and then speak with Mushu once more. He will then request that you take a photo of him to complete the final step.
To create the Unfired Dragon Statues, follow these steps.
After gathering all necessary materials, create 20 Unfired Dragon Statues using the Crafting Station nearby. Next, place the statues and Firewood into the kiln and interact with it. While the statues are being fired, Mushu recommends completing Mulan’s training.
A Guide to Completing A Defender’s Training Quest
Mulan’s training is divided into three distinct parts. The first part, Orienteering, involves locating eight Pebbles within a maze. Once you have collected all eight, you may proceed to the next section.
The Brick-Breaking challenge is fairly straightforward – all you have to do is use your Pickaxe to break eight Training Bricks near the kiln. After that, you must catch 10 Salmon from the golden fishing spots to finish the Fishing for Precision task. Finally, Mulan instructs you to put the fish into the cauldron.
After completing the training and waiting for a while, Mushu’s Dragon Statues will be completed. Unfortunately, there seems to be an attack from the Huns, but upon closer inspection, it is revealed to be a landslide that causes some damage to the camp.
How to Complete the Protecting the Camp Quest
After the landslide, Mulan requests that you assist in cleaning up the camp by removing Sand Piles, Rocks, and Broken Logs. You can help by fishing out and clearing the Broken Logs near the Sand Piles and Rocks. Mulan also provides you with 10 Tree Seeds to be planted and watered in the various patches of soil around the camp.
Mulan recommends creating Sandbags as a means of safeguarding the area against flooding. The materials needed for the Sandbag crafting recipe are as follows:
- x40 Brown Sand
- x15 Fiber
In order to obtain Brown Sand in the Realm, you will need to dig up sand piles. Additionally, each piece of Seaweed can be crafted into five pieces of Fiber.
Upon completing the creation of 20 Sandbags, proceed to accompany Mulan as she directs the placement of the bags near the tents.
How to Complete the Clearing the Road Quest
Mushu requests that you collect 25 Wooden Logs in order to construct four fence sections. You may either continue fishing for the logs or pick up any that are lying on the ground. Once you have crafted the four pieces of the Wooden Fence, position them at the base of the mountain near the magnolia trees.
While waiting for the delivery wagon, Mushu instructs you to continue with Mulan. Take this opportunity to speak with Mulan and return to the Valley to build their House. Choose a location and complete the construction by paying Scrooge McDuck 20,000 Star Coins.
After completing the construction of Mulan and Mushu’s house, you return to the Mulan Realm to welcome her. Mushu then requests your assistance in finding Mulan’s Key, which can be found straight ahead, past the magnolia trees and near the carts with sandbags.
Use Mushu to unlock the chest and receive the Defender’s Sword, then accompany him to the Valley.
After bringing Mushu and Mulan to your Valley, it is now time to finish The Majesty and Magnolias Star Path.
