How to Use Voice Chat in XDefiant

In XDefiant, voice chat is crucial for careful coordination due to the absence of a pinging system. Given the game’s emphasis on squad-based gameplay, effective communication within your team or party is absolutely necessary. Here are some tips for using voice chat in XDefiant.

Understanding Voice Chat in XDefiant

By default, XDefiant has voice chat enabled and offers various customization options in the Audio and Voice Chat section under Settings.

Some of the options available are:

  • Switching between public (all teammates) and private channels (party only)
  • Multiple Voice chat modes: Push-to-talk or Open Mic
  • The ability to switch channels in-game and disable voice chat entirely during a match with an assigned key
  • Adjusting the voice chat volume, input device, input threshold, and volume boost

Voice Chat Default Mapping for XDefiant

In XDefiant, you have the option to customize your voice chat keys in the Settings menu under the Mouse and Keyboard section. However, the default settings already have the necessary keys assigned for voice chat and its functions.

Function Key
Push-to-talk K
Voice Chat Toggle M
Voice Chat Channel Switch N

For those who prefer not to engage in conversations or deal with any potential negativity, there is an option to completely disable voice chat. Text chat is also accessible in-game through the menu or by pressing Enter.

It is our hope that Ubisoft will introduce a pinging system that greatly reduces the reliance on voice chat. This feature has proven to be extremely beneficial in Rainbow Six Siege, as I exclusively used it instead of voice chat.

Furthermore, I suggest reviewing the system requirements to guarantee that your computer is capable of running the game smoothly.
