Edwards and Muhammad have previously fought each other as the main event of a UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2021.

The match was declared a no-contest when Edwards accidentally inserted his finger into Muhammad’s eye, resulting in the doctor stopping the fight in the second round.

The two will once again face each other, this time with the UFC championship at stake. Being the main event, Edwards is likely to have the support of an enthusiastic Manchester audience.

Similarly, Aspinall, the current interim heavyweight champion, is from England and will require assistance in defending against Blaydes.

The initial encounter between the pair will not be forgotten by UFC fans, as it resulted in a severe knee injury for Aspinall, granting Blaydes a TKO win.

Despite his sole loss on Aspinall’s UFC record, the upcoming Manchester card presents an opportunity for him to confront those demons against his American opponent.

Despite the two main event fights, there are also several other notable MMA stars on the card, with Liverpool’s very own Pimblett appearing further down the lineup.

Bobby Green, a seasoned veteran, will face off against him with the shared goal of securing a win and potentially earning a shot at the UFC lightweight championship in the near future.

The remaining main card features a bout between Englishman Arnold Allen and Giga Chikadze, as well as an opening match between undefeated Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape.
