How Yuta’s Cursed Technique Helped Him Take Over Gojo’s Body

Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiasts are in a state of excitement this week. The supposed reappearance of Gojo Satoru was actually Yuta taking over his teacher’s body, much to Sukuna’s astonishment. How did Yuta pull off this unexpected feat? To comprehend this, we must first explore Yuta’s powers.

Yuta possesses a Cursed Technique known as “COPY.”This allows him to replicate and utilize other cursed techniques while in the presence of Rika. He can efficiently utilize these copied abilities multiple times in rapid succession.

This ability in Jujutsu Kaisen is incredibly powerful, rendering Yuta invincible. Its resemblance to All For One from My Hero Academia is striking.

Despite our initial belief that his copied techniques may be weaker than those of the original user, it is actually quite the opposite. Yuta’s impressive strength allows him to utilize certain techniques even more effectively than their original users.

Toge Inumaki’s cursed speech, which Yuta successfully copied, proved to be even more powerful than its original user. Unlike Toge, Yuta was not affected by the negative consequences of using the technique, and it was able to completely wipe out Geto’s army of curses in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Requirements for Copying Techniques

Despite the series not explicitly stating a requirement, a widely accepted fan theory suggests that Yuta or Rika must consume a portion of the user in order to tap into their powers. This portion could range from a significant amount to a minuscule strand of their DNA. Once these conditions are fulfilled, whether on a large or small level, Yuta will be able to utilize their abilities.

In the arc of the Culling Game, Yuta proved his ability by copying Takako Uro’s Sky Manipulation power. By consuming one of Rika’s arms, Yuta gained the ability to use this power. He then used it to deliver a fatal blow to Ryu Ishigori, as if he had always possessed this power.

The Mechanism Behind Yuta’s Takeover of Gojo’s Body

The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, 261, confirmed a widely-believed fan theory regarding Yuta. According to the theory, Yuta was meant to inherit Gojo’s six eyes due to their familial connection.

In Chapter 261, it was revealed that Yuta is a member of the ‘Fujiwara’ bloodline. Gojo then proposed that he may also have ‘Sugawara’ heritage, indicating a distant relation between the two.

Many centuries ago, Sugawara was known as one of the Big Three Vengeful Spirits and is considered an ancestor of Gojo and Yuta. These powerful spirits are also the forefathers of the three prominent families in the Jujutsu world: Gojo, Zen’in, and Kamo.

This clarifies why Yuta is the most suitable candidate to take over Gojo’s body: He is the second most powerful individual after his mentor.

The situation took an unexpected turn when it was disclosed that Rika had consumed Kenjaku’s head. It may sound unbelievable, but Yuta had applied his COPY Technique on Kenjaku and successfully acquired the cursed ability to control deceased bodies. With Kenjaku’s power, Yuta was able to switch bodies with Gojo Satoru while receiving help from Shoko and Amai.

Despite being a disappointment to many fans, Gege’s unexpected move ultimately makes sense when all the pieces are connected. It was necessary for someone to transform into a monster in order to defeat Sukuna. It will certainly be intriguing to witness Yuta’s management of SIX EYES and LIMITLESS, although it may not be sufficient to vanquish the King of Curses.
