Mobile players who have downloaded Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero are calling on HoYoverse to introduce a feature that can assist with storage issues.
With the introduction of Zenless Zone Zero and multiple substantial game updates for Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, mobile users are starting to experience difficulties with their devices’ storage capacity due to the increasing demand.
This is especially applicable to individuals with older hardware or those who play multiple gacha games. Due to this persistent problem, the mobile gaming community is now calling for HoYoverse to incorporate one straightforward feature that would alleviate the strain.
A player took to the official Honkai Star Rail Reddit page to express their frustration with preloading updates for HoYoverse games. They described their experience of having to download the latest updates for Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai Star Rail, and Genshin Impact, which left them with limited storage space on their mobile device.
This issue is especially problematic for mobile devices with restricted storage or without the option for external SD cards. As a result, players are now requesting for HoYoverse to include the ability to delete previous resources in all of their games.

One player stated, “I uninstalled ZZZ, but it’s not because I don’t like the game. I plan on giving it another chance in the future once I have a better phone. I was just surprised that the game takes up 18 GB on the initial download, especially since it is much smaller in scale compared to Genshin and HSR. Lol.”
Some other players also concurred, and one even mentioned that being able to remove previous quests and content would help create more space, which was much needed.
“It would be beneficial if we were given the option to delete past quests and if the permanent events modes were made available for download. Currently, there are many past events and modes that not all players participate in, so making them downloadable as DLC would help free up space. In the event that a current event involves a past mode, it could easily be downloaded again.”
It is hoped that in the future, HoYoverse will incorporate a storage management system in order to enhance the mobile experience.
