Huh Chanmi’s Rise to Prominence in South Korea: A Look at What Led to Her Success

Despite her initial failure to debut with popular girl groups Girls’ Generation and I.O.I, K-pop idol Huh Chanmi has been garnering attention and gaining popularity in South Korea for this specific reason.

Huh Chanmi first gained recognition in the K-pop industry as a member of Coed School, which debuted in 2010, and F-ve Girls, which launched in 2011.

Before this, she had been a trainee under SM Entertainment and was expected to join the popular girl group, SNSD, as their 10th member. However, because of her young age, she was ultimately not included in the final lineup.

Despite having a beautiful face and impressive vocal abilities, she was unable to reach the pinnacle of her career following the disbandment of her group within a year.

In 2016, she made another attempt and became a contestant on Mnet’s “Produce 101.”Although she gained recognition from the show, it was unfortunately for a negative reason. During the performance of SNSD’s debut song “Into the New World,”she was chosen as the main vocalist but missed a note during the “killing part,”which was replayed by Mnet 5 times.

As a result of becoming a massive internet meme, she refrained from leaving her room for an entire year.

Despite others’ beliefs that she had abandoned her dream of becoming a singer, Huh Chanmi persisted and remained determined to follow her chosen path as a trot singer.

Despite failing to enter the domestic major music charts, she gained recognition through her live performances all over the country when she made her comeback on May 2 with her latest single, “Saturday Night.”

The song has gained recognition for its unique “tail dance”and has become a popular dance challenge in the local community. It is a trot dance song that continues to captivate audiences.

According to music experts, this newly released song is expected to gain popularity due to its retro sound reminiscent of the 80s and its catchy tune that lends itself well to sing-alongs.

According to a news organization,

“What makes Huh Chanmi’s performance of her new song even more eye-catching is that it combines her experience as an idol trainee and as a member. Her tail dance and her hand and foot movements that are made by carefully calculating the beat of her song clearly demonstrate her dancing skills, as does Heo Chanmi’s beautiful dance line.”

Currently, “Saturday Night”is gaining popularity not only in the city but also on various radio stations nationwide. Additionally, fans have been participating in choreography challenges, solidifying its status as a popular summer song.

Additionally, she is occupied with performing on festival stages throughout the nation, showcasing her well-received track.
