Human Centipede director responds to cheeky homage in The Boys

The Boys recently honored the cult horror film The Human Centipede, and its writer-director, Tom Six, approves of the tribute, stating that it is “excellent.”

Upon its release in 2009, The Human Centipede caused quite a commotion due to its deeply disturbing premise. The horror film features a deranged scientist who connects his victims in a rather gruesome manner – from mouth to anus.

The Boys continues to shock viewers, as seen in Episode 2 of Season 4, where the superhero series included a scene clearly influenced by The Human Centipede.

The scene in question takes place during the middle of the events, as Frenchie and Kimiko pursue Splinter into a locker room. However, upon entering, they discover numerous clones of the character engaged in self-pleasure from behind.

We inquired with Tom Six, the demented writer-director behind The Human Centipede, for his thoughts on the tribute. He expressed, “I find it fantastic that even after many years, The Human Centipede remains popular and relevant. It has cemented its place in pop culture and I have noticed that a new audience has also discovered it, so I believe its success will continue for some time.”

Despite being the subject of ridicule on various late-night talk shows and being referenced in popular shows like South Park, Family Guy, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Human Centipede has gained widespread attention since its release. This can be seen in the above video and also in its appearances on Community, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, and Deadpool 2. Therefore, it can be said that he is not mistaken.

The Human Centipede homage in The Boys has already been censored in India, making it the most talked-about moment of Season 4.
