A video comparing the Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1, both of which have gone viral, was tested by the founder of Rabbit and revealed that the R1 outperforms the premium AI pin.
Despite receiving a poor review from tech influencer Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), the ongoing criticisms of the Humane AI Pin show no signs of ceasing. In fact, a video comparing the AI Pin to its cheaper competitor, the Rabbit R1, demonstrates that the latter outperforms it significantly.
A recent video posted by Rabbit’s founder and CEO Jesse Lyu demonstrates a comparison between the two rival devices, revealing that the AI Pin has a significantly longer response time than the R1 in similar circumstances.

The AI Pin and R1 were both connected to the internet via a 4G cellular network as he asked them a series of questions. The Humane Pin was slightly slower, taking about a second or two to respond to basic questions and up to 5 seconds for follow-up or more complex queries. However, there were some questions that both devices responded to in a similar amount of time.
Both devices utilize AI to generate responses to user queries, making them similar. However, their physical designs differ. The Humane AI Pin is a compact and wearable device, which Lyu is not fully in favor of, while the Rabbit R1 is a handheld device that resembles a foldable flip phone.
While Lyu’s opinions may be influenced by his discussion of a competing device’s flaws, it should be noted that some bias may exist. To accurately determine the performance differences between the two devices, it is best to await additional independent reviews and comparisons.
During a comparison between Lyu’s use of a $199 test unit of the Rabbit R1 and the retail version of Humane’s AI Pin, it was observed that the latter is priced at $699 and also requires a monthly subscription of $24 for unlimited data access.
