According to sources, the Hunter x Hunter manga is set to make its return in October 2024. This comes after a series of prolonged and frequent hiatuses, taken to prioritize the author’s health and well-being. The manga will resume with the publication of a new chapter on October 7, 2024, as part of issue #45 of the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.
Yoshihiro Togashi is the writer and illustrator of the Hunter x Hunter manga series, which first appeared in March 1998. Over the course of 15 years, it has published a total of 400 chapters.

During a Shonen Jump livestream, an announcement video was released by the publishers stating that a chapter of the Hunter x Hunter manga will be released on October 7, 2024. The video also included manga illustrations of different characters from the story. Towards the end of the video, it was revealed that the chapter will be featured in a future issue of Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.
This video showcased well-known characters such as Killua, Gon Freecss, Neferpitou, and others. The frequent and extended breaks were a result of Togashi’s health issues, specifically his debilitating back problems, which required him to take these breaks. As the author of the Hunter x Hunter manga, Togashi’s health has been a factor in the manga’s release schedule.
Despite the unfortunate passing of Kentaro Miura, fans were relieved to hear that the author has placed a priority on his health. This tragic event served as a reminder of the hazards that come with this line of work. Although there is currently no update on the author’s health, the fact that the manga is returning is a positive indication. It also suggests that there will be many more chapters to come in the future.
Furthermore, the manga’s comeback may suggest a positive change in Yoshihiro Togashi’s well-being.
