Situated in the vibrant district of Apgujeong, A Bar is operated by Lee Min-woo’s sister from the famous boy band Shinhwa. Reports indicate that the establishment was not initially designed to be a hunting pocha.
The baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun gathered with friends at A Bar in Apgujeong until 6 a.m. on September 1, following a game in Daejeon on August 31.
A video showing Hwang Jae-gyun at the bar was shared on the venue’s social media, leading a fan to notify OSEN, providing photos of him socializing with acquaintances amid the crowd until the early morning.
Sources have noted that, although Hwang Jae-gyun is a senior player on the KT Wiz team, his attendance at a drinking gathering involving both men and women during the critical regular league season—with playoffs approaching—was bound to catch public attention. This interest was amplified due to ongoing divorce rumors linked to him, which were ignited by a misleading statement from commentator Lee Gwang-gil.
Hwang Jae-gyun’s presence at the bar drew considerable media focus, particularly in light of the rumored divorce from actress Jiyeon. A spokesperson from KT Wiz offered a cautious reply to OSEN, saying, “We cannot comment on who he was drinking with as it is a personal matter.”
Moreover, various news outlets reported that the bar Hwang frequented has been categorized as a hunting pocha in Apgujeong, further associating the venue’s name with “Apgujeong Hunting Pocha” in search results.
OSEN’s findings revealed that A Bar, near the Apgujeong Rodeo Station, is primarily not a hunting pocha, although interactions between genders sometimes happen. The bar leans more towards being an outdoor pocha and has been around since before the term “hunting pocha” gained popularity, with Lee Min-woo’s sister, Lee Young-mi, establishing the business years ago. The venue has earned acclaim among celebrities and influencers, with Lee Min-woo recently sharing images from a birthday celebration he hosted there with friends. In 2020, actor Go Kyung-pyo sparked false rumors about visiting an entertainment venue when he posed with a BJ at A Bar.
Lee Min-woo currently stars in the KBS2 variety show Mr. House Husband, and his sister, Lee Young-mi, has also made appearances, sharing her brother’s experience as a victim of a ₩2.6 billion fraud.
Meanwhile, the divorce speculations surrounding T-ara’s Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun remain unresolved. Despite a close associate of Jiyeon asserting that the rumors are “groundless,” public speculation persists, fueled by various factors, including Jiyeon’s recent pause in YouTube uploads for personal reasons, her absence of a wedding ring in recent images, and the couple’s lack of public commentary on the situation.
