This social media update marks Hwang Jae-gyun’s first public statement since his divorce from the singer Jiyeon, which was finalized in November of the previous year. However, the tide turned when rumors of separation emerged by June 2024.

After months of speculation, both Hwang and Jiyeon chose to remain tight-lipped until October 2024, when they officially acknowledged their divorce. During this announcement, Jiyeon’s legal representative emphasized that “the couple could not overcome their differences and, after a period of separation, agreed to divorce. They have filed for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court to proceed with the process.”
