On May 23, it was reported by Korean news outlets that HYBE had chosen possible candidates to take over for Min Hee Jin and other members of ADOR’s executive board. However, HYBE was made aware of these allegations and responded to the matter.

According to a statement released by HYBE, the company stated that they have not yet appointed a registered CEO for ADOR. They also stated that no label will be taking over the production for NewJeans, and that further details regarding directorial roles, tasks, and re-organizations will be announced at a later date.

Below is the agency’s complete statement:

“We are writing this to provide a clear explanation about the reports regarding the management changes in ADOR. We would like to inform you that the documented CEO of ADOR has not yet been finalized and it’s not true that another label could handle the production (for its artists).

We would also like to let you know that we are planning to disclose the roles and scopes of the three director candidates, with the stabilization of the organization and measures on support as soon as they are finally decided.”

On May 23, K-media reported that HYBE is contemplating Lee Jae Sang, its Chief Security Officer (CSO), as a potential successor to Min Hee Jin as CEO of ADOR.

The reports also listed additional HYBE executives, including Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Kim Joo Young and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Lee Kyung Joon.

Additionally, there were reports that HYBE labels may be tasked with temporarily managing NewJeans in the event that a large number of ADOR employees resign due to the changes in management.

In other developments, HYBE issued a response to the letter received from the parents of the NewJeans members on May 13. An email from Min Hee Jin, published by Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports, revealed the parents’ feelings towards HYBE and BELIFT LAB.

According to sources, Min Hee Jin received an email on March 31 containing a statement that touched on various topics, including the similarities between ILLIT and NewJeans, HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk’s treatment of NewJeans, and more.

As a result, HYBE responded to the issue by issuing a statement of their own. The agency stated that they had already addressed the plagiarism accusations between the two girl groups on April 16, firmly denying any wrongdoing. Additionally, they refuted the allegations of neglect and dismissed the claims of Bang Si Hyuk ignoring NewJeans.

“HYBE expressed deep regret that Min Jee Jin is involving artists and their families in her pursuit of personal gain.”
