A dispute between HYBE Labels and Min Hee Jin, the CEO of its subsidiary ADOR, has gained widespread attention. According to HYBE, Min Hee Jin orchestrated a plan to take over complete ownership of ADOR, the agency that manages NewJeans.
Despite their request for an audit and a shareholder meeting with ADOR’s board of directors, Min Hee Jin has denied these claims, causing internal turmoil and public outcry.
Netizens React To ADOR CEO’s Public Statement
Despite HYBE’s allegations that Min Hee Jin and other executives made attempts to gain full control of ADOR without the knowledge of HYBE Labels, the CEO of ADOR called for an urgent press conference at the Korea Conference Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The media briefing took place at 3:00 PM on April 25, 2024.
At the press conference, Min Hee Jin revealed information about various topics such as Bang Si Hyuk’s treatment towards her, the broken promise of NewJeans being the first HYBE girl group to debut, and the NewJeans members showing support for her.
After the press conference, there was a division among netizens. While some agreed with Min Hee Jin’s valid points and felt that it was unjust for LE SSERAFIM to debut first, others still believed in HYBE’s promise of NewJeans being their first girl group.
In addition, they observed how Bang Si Hyuk ridiculed her through text messages and found it unacceptable that he requested for her to “crush”aespa.

On that very day, Korean netizens were quick to point out that any posts expressing support for Min Hee Jin were immediately flagged and moderated by an administrator, while those supporting HYBE were left untouched.
This caused speculation that the company was attempting to silence those who supported Min Hee Jin.

The actions of HYBE have caused a significant amount of backlash, as many individuals believe that the company should focus on protecting their artists from online attacks instead of safeguarding their own reputation. It has been pointed out that despite numerous reports of harmful posts targeting NewJeans and other artists, they were either not addressed or took hours to be flagged.
