On September 5, fans of BTS’s V began trending hashtags such as “HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG EQUALLY”and “HYBE RESPECT TAEHYUNG”on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
The origin of these hashtags can be traced back to HYBE’s actions of filing copyright claims and taking down several fancams of BTS’s V, despite those videos having millions of views. This raised concerns of unequal treatment as similar fancams of other BTS members were left untouched.

Ultimately, within just a day, the hashtags accumulated more than 65,000 posts, indicating that HYBE has ultimately taken steps to address the issue.
Specifically, on September 6, the copyright claim on multiple fancams featuring BTS’s V was withdrawn, allowing the videos to be viewed once more.
Despite some of the previously viewed videos being removed, fans continue to trend the same hashtags and are also reaching out to HYBE through emails, demanding for quicker actions.
