On May 10th, HYBE released an official statement addressing recent accusations. They stated that on the 9th, they conducted an audit on ADOR’s team leader in accordance with the law and with the consent of the auditee. They denied the accusation made by Min Hee-jin in her official statement released earlier on the same day.
In response to the accusation made by Min Hee-jin that HYBE’s audit team followed the ADOR’s female team leader to her house late at night, the company clarified that the team leader had admitted to receiving bribes worth hundreds of millions of won from an outsourced company for several years, with the approval of CEO Min Hee-jin. The team leader also expressed her intention to submit her personal laptop, which she had left at home, to the company. As a result, with her consent, only female employees from our company accompanied the ADOR team leader to her home in order to obtain the laptop.
HYBE emphasized that the company does not have a practice of allowing regular employees to directly receive large amounts of profits from advertisers. It was brought to light that the CEO had been transferring company sales to another individual for several years, which is a clear violation of the law rather than just a practice. Despite being the CEO, Min Hee-jin has not taken any steps to recover the funds or punish the employee involved in receiving illegal funds. As a result, the company has launched an investigation to uncover the whereabouts of the hundreds of millions of won in profits that were received by the ADOR team leader.
During the audit process, HYBE revealed a portion of the discussions between CEO Min Hee-jin and ADOR executives that they had verified.
According to HYBE, CEO Min Hee-jin is aware of the large sum of money that the team leader received under her approval. Despite being confronted by HYBE’s HR manager, CEO Min Hee-jin downplayed the situation and suggested using HYBE as an excuse to stop the team leader from receiving the bribe money. This has caused disappointment within HYBE and they refute the false information presented by CEO Min Hee-jin’s side, which attempts to deceive the public. HYBE considers this a serious defamation of their company and plans to take both civil and criminal actions against those who disclosed the ADOR team leader’s audit to the public.
