Hyejeong Speaks Out on AOA’s Internal Conflicts: “I Don’t Stay in Touch with the Members”

On October 2nd, a YouTube video titled “AOA’s Shin Hyejeong, Tried To Stop The Conflict Between Members But Ended Up Becoming A Judge | Tak Jae-hoon, Shin Kyu-jin and Kim Ye-won’s ‘Tak’s Patch’” was uploaded to the channel “No Back Tak Jae-hoon” .

In this video, Hyejeong addressed the disbandment rumors regarding AOA, stating, “The group hasn’t officially disbanded. There’s no clear declaration, but it feels like we’ve disbanded in our hearts.” She emphasized, “We’re all cheering for each other in our own lives, in our hearts.”

When host Tak Jae-hoon inquired about Choa’s comments on a previous episode, where she mentioned feeling pitiful, Hyejeong replied, “I watched that episode with Choa. She was the first to pursue her own activities. Didn’t she achieve her dreams?” Tak added, “But she had to leave first to survive.”

Hyejeong shared her perspective on Choa, stating, “She left to pursue what she wanted. I’ve never thought of her as pitiful.” When asked if she believed Choa was thriving, Hyejeong said, “We’re on different paths, but I believe she is doing well on her own.”

Regarding her connections with other AOA members, Hyejeong revealed that she doesn’t keep in touch anymore. However, she stays updated on their lives through Instagram. When asked if there was a “main culprit” in the group’s issues, she remarked, “I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault.”

As the interview progressed, Tak Jae-hoon asked, “There are fans who want to see you acting in dramas. How long do they have to wait?” Shin Kyu-jin added, “Fans want to see AOA as a whole again.”

When Ye-won queried about potential reunion plans, Hyejeong replied, “I’m not sure. I don’t stay in touch with the members.” Regarding any reconciliation, she honestly stated, “Not yet?” Shin Kyu-jin remarked, “Then a reunion can’t happen yet. Reconciliation has to come first.”

Tak Jae-hoon wrapped up the interview by stating, “We won’t dive too deep into this. There’s personal privacy involved,” effectively closing the discussion.

Meanwhile, AOA halted their activities after former member Kwon Mina revealed she had faced bullying from Jimin for 10 years, which ultimately led to her departure from the group. This revelation exposed the internal conflicts that brought AOA’s activities to a standstill.
