A video featuring idol-actress Hyeri and YouTuber DEX was released on August 15th.
During the video, Dex brought up to Hyeri that she had debuted at the age of 17. Hyeri then shared that she had actually debuted in 2010, but it felt like it hadn’t been that long since then. In fact, it had been 14 years, which surprised her.
Hyeri elaborated on her debut, stating that she was not a trainee and had not been preparing for anything in particular. Instead, she simply considers herself fortunate to have been cast quickly.
She explained, “A friend requested a favor because there was a vacancy at an audition and they needed someone to fill it. Even though I lacked any skills or experience, they assured me that I only needed to be present to complete the required number of participants. Therefore, I attended and ended up getting the role.”
The idol-actress also admitted that in the past, she had always dreamt of experiencing the life of a celebrity. However, during her younger years, it seemed like a goal that was only attainable for a select few.
Hyeri explained her path to debuting with Girl’s Day, stating that she joined the group during their preparations for an album. She shared, “I auditioned in August and debuted in October,”which surprised Dex, as it was a quick turnaround.
Dex exclaimed in disbelief, “Seriously? That’s an incredibly fast debut. Is that not almost a record?”He went on to commend her, remarking, “You must have an extraordinary amount of talent to achieve that. It’s not something just anyone could do, right?”
Hyeri thought to herself, “I was initially taken aback and wondered, ‘Is it appropriate for me to take on this task?’ However, despite not anticipating it, I was grateful for the amazing opportunity and used it as motivation to push myself even further.”
