HyunA and Dawn’s Relationship Controversy: Allegations of Targeting Ex-Boyfriend Spark Backlash

On April 18th, HyunA shared her dating story with her boyfriend Yong Jun-hyung on the YouTube channel “Jo Hyun-ah’s Thursday Night”.

On that particular day, HyunA expressed her gratitude for meeting someone who gives her the courage to excel in her work. She also mentioned that she would be meeting her boyfriend after completing the filming, and added that being in a relationship has been a positive experience for her.

Yet, there was a dispute over HyunA’s clothing.

In the video, HyunA was seen in a T-shirt from a local brand, but it was emblazoned with the words “Siri, block ex number.”

Dawn, a singer, was previously HyunA’s long-term boyfriend. They began publicly dating in 2018 and even became engaged, but eventually ended their relationship in 2022. Dawn, who was a member of boy group Pentagon, departed from the group and their agency after making their relationship public.

While actively engaging in numerous entertainment programs and unit activities, they maintained their confident relationship. Furthermore, they both hold positions at various companies such as Cube Entertainment, P Nation, and AT AREA.

Amidst the rumors, there were concerns that the phrase on HyunA’s T-shirt was directed at Dawn. Netizens questioned, “Why would she wear a shirt like that on a variety show, especially after just announcing her relationship with Yong Jun-hyung?”Others pointed out, “Dawn is HyunA’s ex-boyfriend, it’s common knowledge.”These comments suggest a lack of thoughtfulness towards Dawn.

In January, HyunA made a surprising announcement to her fans about her relationship with Yong Jun-hyung. Yong Jun-hyung also shared this news with his fans, stating, “I know it came as a shock, but we are happily spending time together and supporting each other. We hope for your warm support as well.”

Despite the negative response from fans and netizens, Yong Jun-hyung was embroiled in controversy in 2019 regarding illegal filming by singer Jung Joon-young. Initially denying the accusations, Yong Jun-hyung eventually reversed his position after 3 days and withdrew from the group.
