The video provides a detailed examination of the infamous “Burning Sun Gate”scandal, which rocked Korea in 2019. This highly disturbing incident involved the participation of popular figures such as former Big Bang member Seungri, singer Jung Joon-young, and FT Island leader Choi Jong-hoon, who were found guilty of various crimes and misconduct. These included drug use, sexual violence, collusion with law enforcement and authorities, tax evasion, and physical assault, all of which occurred at Seungri’s club, Burning Sun. The scandal was further exacerbated by the revelation of the “Jung Joon-young Group Chat Room,”where numerous celebrities and influential individuals shared illegally filmed sexual videos.
Hyuna’s former boyfriend, Yong Jun-hyung, was also suspected of being a member of the controversial group chat. At first, Yong vehemently denied all accusations and even threatened to take legal action against the spreading rumors. However, it was eventually revealed to be a false statement, and Yong Jun-hyung belatedly confessed to his involvement. As a result, he made the decision to leave his group HIGHLIGHT (BEAST) and put a halt to his activities. Despite returning as a solo artist in 2022, Yong Joon-hyung faced heavy backlash for making a distasteful joke about not being a part of any “group chat room.”
This is the reason why both Yong Jun-hyung and his girlfriend Hyuna have been met with cold scrutiny from the public. In light of recent news surrounding Goo Ha-ra and the “Burning Sun Scandal,”criticism towards Hyuna has intensified. It has been reported that Goo Ha-ra, who was a close friend of Hyuna’s and a former member of KARA, played a crucial role in exposing the scandal. The two had grown close after appearing on the entertainment show “Invincible Youth”together in the past.
