Highlights from I Parry Everything Episode 3
In the third installment of I Parry Everything, titled I Parried Her Apprenticeship, the story picks up where episode 2 left off. Noor is approached by Gilbert, who ends up challenging him to a spar and guiding him to the training grounds in episode 3.
Despite not comprehending the reasoning behind the request, Noor eagerly agreed to it as the chance to spar with someone of Gilbert’s caliber was a rare opportunity.
Gilbert and Noor both armed themselves with wooden weapons and began their match. Despite Gilbert’s repeated spear strikes, Noor effortlessly dodged them all and quickly realized that Gilbert was unconsciously restraining his power.
After Noor urged him, Gilbert unleashed even more of his strength. However, Noor effortlessly evaded his attacks, leading him to believe that he had become even stronger. In response, Noor encouraged Gilbert to use his full power against him. Gilbert then used his ultimate spear strike, which was believed to be impossible for a human to dodge. However, Noor was able to dodge it by combining his enhanced physical abilities with his Featherstep skills.
Upon reflection, Noor came to understand that evading this particular move necessitated him pushing his fundamental abilities to their utmost potential. However, he had misinterpreted the purpose of the sparring session entirely. Noor had interpreted it as Gilbert trying to humiliate him and demonstrate the pitfalls of arrogance, in order to prevent him from overestimating his own skills. In reality, Gilbert had simply wanted to assess Noor’s abilities.
Despite the spar coming to an end, Gilbert remained deep in thought. He was reminded of how there were very few individuals in the entire kingdom who could rival his strength. However, to his surprise, Noor unintentionally embarrassed him without even realizing it.
Noor was later approached by Lynne, who asked him to accept her as his apprentice. Noor refused adamantly, convinced that Lynne highly overestimated his skills due to her own exceptional talent.
Despite Lynne’s impressive demonstration of her many advanced skills and her request for Noor to take her on as his apprentice again, he remained firm in his refusal. In an attempt to convince her, Noor showcased one of his fundamental abilities, proving that he was not a worthy mentor.
Lynne was impressed by Noor’s exceptional skills, which surpassed even the most experienced masters of the adventuring schools. As the episode concluded, Lynne made a vow to become a worthy apprentice under Noor’s guidance.
