I Parry Everything episode 5: Noor faces his death

The fifth episode of “I Parry Everything,”titled “I Parried a Toad,”was released on August 1, 2024. The main focus of the episode was to advance the plot and introduce new mysteries surrounding Noor’s identity.

Just like in episode 4, this episode also attempted to adhere to the villain of the week formula. However, the creature that Noor had to confront in episode 5 proved to be a poor match for his fighting style. Despite ending on a cliffhanger, the episode also skillfully laid the groundwork for the revelation of Noor’s other formidable abilities.

Please be advised that the following article contains spoilers for episode 5 of I Parry Everything.

I Parry Everything: Episode 5 Highlights

In episode 5 of I Parry Everything, Rein, Lynne’s brother, is bombarded with multiple missing person reports and complaints from across the kingdom. As he connects the dots, he remembers Lynne and Noor’s encounter with the Goblin Emperor in the previous episode. This revelation leads him to suspect that the neighboring nations may be attempting to provoke a full-scale war.

After watching episode 5 of Parry Everything, the scene shifts to Noor and Lynne sharing a meal to celebrate their first successful commission. Noor expresses surprise at how the guild master easily gave them the reward for their goblin hunting task, even though they were unable to provide any evidence of the hunt.

Rein interrupts their meal, urgently requesting a favor from Lynne and Noor. He assures them that the favor will be turned into an official commission, with a substantial reward for Noor. Rein instructs Lynne to board a carriage and patrol the routes, explaining that in case of any incidents, they should travel through the mountains to reach the Holy Theocracy of Mithra.

As Lynne and Noor set off on their journey, they are accompanied by Ines, a powerful knight from the kingdom who is often compared to Gilbert. Throughout the trip, Ines struggles with feelings of jealousy and envy towards Noor, as her master and foster father had previously mentioned someone with the same name during a mission to conquer a new territory.

During their journey, Ines, Lynne, and Noor come across a Black Death Dragon and a demonfolk child who possesses the power to command monsters. The dragon becomes uncontrollable and begins attacking the demonfolk child, causing Noor to mistakenly believe it is a giant toad and confront it head-on.

Ines, fully aware of the dragon’s true nature, stops Lynne from helping Noor, as she believes the situation to be beyond hope. The dragon’s poison quickly takes its toll on Noor. Fearing for Lynne’s safety, Ines bravely protects her, convinced that Noor has been defeated.

Despite being severely poisoned, Noor’s tenacity surprises Ines as he continues to parry the dragon’s attacks. However, the poison eventually takes its toll and Noor collapses, succumbing to its effects. The episode ends with Noor weakly stating that he’ll somehow manage the situation, even as his voice fades.

Final thoughts

Despite being faced with an opponent that could not be parried, Noor’s strengths were put to the test in episode 5 of I Parry Everything. While this installment may have hinted at his downfall, the true outcome of his fate will not be revealed until the release of episode 6 on August 8, 2024.
