In the eighth episode of I Parry Everything, the audience is taken back in time as a young Noor is shown having a conversation with his father. His father regales him with stories of terrifying dragons and how the brave adventurers who defeated them were hailed as wealthy heroes known as “Dragonslayers.”This fills Noor with a burning desire to become one himself, but his father cautions him that it will not be an easy feat. As Noor is just a child, his father reminds him that dragons are ancient and formidable creatures, making them dangerous adversaries.

The scene then changes to the present, as Noor awakens in Lynne’s carriage. Together, they catch sight of the enormous Dragon of Calamity, which was first introduced in episode 7. Lynne’s brother Rein makes fun of the ridiculousness of the situation and acknowledges that the neighboring country would resort to unleashing such a catastrophe over a small dispute. Recognizing the imminent peril, Rein commands his guards to evacuate the kingdom.

Despite witnessing the dragon’s immense power, Lynne starts to lose hope for her kingdom’s survival. She doubts they will make it to the capital in time. However, with Noor’s guidance, she comes up with a plan to alter her Windblast spell and send Noor directly towards the capital. While Noor realizes the plan too late, he is still launched towards the dragon.

As the dragon prepares to unleash its legendary breath attack on the capital, Lynne’s father King Clays steps forward to face it, fully aware that it could result in his death. However, before the dragon can strike, Noor appears and redirects the attack into the sky. Noor then engages in a one-on-one battle with the Dragon of Calamity.

As the battle continues, the dragon’s frustration grows as it is unable to defeat Noor. King Clays and those observing come to understand that the dragon’s anger stems from Noor’s refusal to see it as a foe, causing the dragon to doubt its own strength.

Despite recognizing its own weakness against Noor’s power, the dragon is ultimately defeated and forced to submit to him. Noor, instead of taking its life, spares the dragon and teasingly declares that he will never be a hero.

Final Thoughts

The aftermath of Noor defeating the Dragon of Calamity will be depicted in the release of Episode 9 on August 29, 2024. Given I Parry Everything episode 8’s ending, where the dragon submits itself to Noor, it is likely that the dragon will become Noor’s ally in upcoming episodes.
