Ice Poseidon’s $100K Hunger Games: Controversial Win Overturned in Final Battle

Ice Poseidon’s $100K Hunger Games Kick competition concluded in a controversial manner when the initial outcome was reversed due to a chaotic final showdown.

Streamer Ice Poseidon elevated the content by hosting an IRL Hunger Games-style battle royale, where 50 creators competed for a grand prize of $100,000.

Despite the use of vests to track hit detection and eliminate players, the final battle on August 21st did not have a clear-cut result as expected, despite a winner being declared.

As the other creators engaged in a fierce battle using batons and riot shields, the competition gradually narrowed down to just two contenders: Esai Givens and Korean streamer Taemin, who were the last ones standing.

After initially being declared the winner, Givens appeared to secure the final blow and win the Kick event with only one HP remaining. However, after further examination of the data, Ice Poseidon was forced to make a controversial ruling.

“Ice explained that upon examining the server data for the hit detection vests, he had to reverse the outcome of the match. It was discovered that Taemin, the Korean player, was actually the last man standing with remaining health and thus, was the rightful winner of the 100k prize.”

Ice Poseidon had to overturn the result.

Despite the streamer’s mistake in not looking at the correct data during the fight, they still made sure to provide some form of compensation for the runner-up. “In light of my error, Esai will receive 50k for coming in second place. Both contestants displayed great resilience and bravery.”

Ice Poseidon continued to elaborate on his conversation with Taemin, stating that the webpage he was utilizing was not updating, while the server was still sending information that he did not notice until later.

The speaker disclosed that Esai had been deceased for a few minutes before the listener.

Despite being a unique event in the streaming world, this is not the only IRL Hunger Games taking place. In 2024, Twitch personality Kai Cenat shared his intentions to host a battle royale of his own, inviting 50 well-known influencers to participate. It is yet to be determined if he will draw inspiration from Ice’s event.
