One of the most sought-after assault rifles in Modern Warfare 2 has emerged as one of the top weapons in Warzone’s fifth season, yet many players may not be aware of its potential.
The Season 5 update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone was released after the Season 4 Reloaded patch, bringing significant changes to the battle royale’s meta.
The popular SMGs in the game, the Superi 46 and FJX Horus, were slightly nerfed, while several guns from Modern Warfare 2 received buffs. Among them, the VEL 46 saw the most improvement and has now become a viable option in the meta.
Despite this, the M4 is not the only weapon that has received significant improvements. With buffs to its minimum, near-mid, and maximum damage ranges, the assault rifle has always been a popular choice in Warzone and is once again a strong contender in Season 5.
Upon watching his July 27 video, WhosImmortal, a Warzone expert, expressed his surprise at the significant buff given to the M4, stating that the gun from MW2 has now been elevated to his top tier of weapons.
Despite being an MW2 gun, the M4 is likely not considered to be part of the ‘absolute meta’ due to its visual recoil, shake, and attachment selection. However, it is still able to hold its own against other top tier MW2 rifles such as the 545 and STB, which have received buffs over time to solidify their standing. Finally, the M4 is also able to compete at this level after receiving its own buffs.
The timestamp remains unchanged at 3:27.
The recent buff has also been reflected in the WZRanked stats, as the M4 has now risen to become the 15th most commonly used weapon in Warzone and the second-highest among MW2 guns.
The rifle ranks sixth in popularity, closely following the STG44, MTZ-556, and BAl-27. So, why not give it a try? It offers more than just a nostalgic experience.
