In August 2024, the Community Day Classic for Pokemon Go players has become even more thrilling with the highly anticipated appearance of an OP Pseudo Legendary.
Metagross, the powerful Steel/Psychic-type Pokemon, is known for its dominance in Raids and the Go Battle League. Every two months, the Community Day Classic takes place and fans have consistently requested for Metagross to be featured, recognizing its vital role in their teams.
After the official Community Day tease for Beldum, Metagross’ pre-evolution, was revealed on Pokemon Go’s X account, user ‘slasherman’ shared the news in the Silph Road subreddit, causing excitement among fellow players.

The majority of the comments expressed great excitement for the upcoming Community Day, with many stating that they haven’t been this excited in a long time and are eagerly anticipating the event.
Although the Legendary Dusk Mane Necrozma surpasses both Metagross and its Shadow version in terms of damage output, many have noted the reasons why the former is a more practical choice. One fan even pointed out, “Coming in second place is still a great achievement, especially considering that most people won’t have more than one Dusk Mane Necrozma.”
Some also pointed out that even if individuals dedicated themselves to grinding Go Fest 2024 in order to obtain multiple Dusk Mane Necrozma, it would still require an impossibly large amount of Stardust to fully power them up, while Metagross can achieve the same result with 75% less Stardust.
This sparked a response from a player who stated, “I can’t wait to get my hands on those coveted XL candies. With them, I’ll finally be able to power up my shiny and shadow Pokémon past 4k CP.”Obtaining XL candies for a Legendary Pokémon is a daunting task, whereas it is much simpler for other species such as Metagross.
The Beldum Community Day is scheduled for August 18 and will run from 2 PM to 5 PM in your local time zone. Evolving Beldum into Metagross during this event will grant it the powerful move, Meteor Mash. In case you have already caught a Beldum with perfect IVs, you can use an Elite Charged TM to teach it Meteor Mash.
Make sure to include a Steel or Psychic-type Mega Evolution such as Lucario, Steelix, Aggron, or Alakazam in your lineup to receive extra XL Candies every time you capture a Beldum during the thrilling Pokemon Go event.
