Many players opt for snipers to dominate long-range battles in Warzone. Although the popular Kar98k will be receiving a mid-season nerf, a well-known MW2 Sniper Rifle is expected to become the new favorite.
Although Warzone offers a variety of weapons for players to select, Snipers are among the most advantageous choices for long-range combat.
Since the Kar98k’s return, it has quickly gained popularity among players, surpassing even Assault Rifles and LMGs as the most sought-after weapon. This is largely due to its exceptional damage and aim assist, as it is classified as a Marksman Rifle.
Nevertheless, in a post on Reddit dated June 13 discussing the Kar98k, the developers of Warzone have stated that they will be implementing “balance adjustments”with the Season 4 Reloaded update, set to be released on June 26, 2024.
As a result, once the Kar nerf is officially implemented in the game, players have begun searching for alternative weapons. One such option is the FJX Imperium, also known as the classic MW2 Intervention, which has emerged as a strong choice for long-range combat in the meta.
Content creator Swagg also expressed his agreement with the potential of FJX Imperium in his June 16 video. He noted that the developers have not made any changes to it, making it a comparable alternative to the Kar98k. Furthermore, by including the 2009 audio pack, it becomes reminiscent of the original Intervention version, a feature that veteran Call of Duty players will undoubtedly appreciate.
While Swagg opted for a Laser attachment, I selected the LR-Retort 29″Barrel and Sonic Suppressor L Muzzle to enhance range, bullet velocity, and movement. This setup can deal a maximum of 295 damage to the head at a distance of 145m, and approximately 240 damage to the chest and neck at the same range, as proven by TrueGameData.
Moreover, the .408 Explosive Ammunition significantly enhances the range, while the Skull-40 Rear Grip counterbalances the ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds. Finally, the FJX Blast Bolt allows for quicker recharge, making it ideal for rapidly landing shots.
Regardless of the loadout you choose, the Intervention is capable of covering all distances on both Urzikstan and Rebirth Island. You may not even notice the absence of the Kar98k while using this iconic MW2 Sniper.
