The official staff has confirmed that the premiere of the anime “If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student”will take place in October 2024. This announcement was made on Thursday, June 20, 2024, through a new teaser promotional video. Additionally, the main cast and additional staff for the series have also been revealed.
The anime adaptation of the eponymous manga series, written and illustrated by Yayu Murata, was produced by Studio Signpost and is titled If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student.
The manga initially began as a one-shot before being serialized in Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine. In addition to the anime, a TV drama based on the manga was also produced and aired from January to March 2022.

The short video, titled “Wife Edition,”begins with the main character, Keisuke Nijima, being surprised by the unexpected return of his presumed deceased wife, Mai Nijima. However, she has now taken on the appearance of an elementary school student named Marika Shiraishi.
Without a doubt, Keisuke is taken aback by the sight of an unfamiliar girl standing at the entrance with her arms crossed, claiming to be at home. However, he quickly comes to the realization that it is his wife, reincarnated as a young elementary school student.
Mai, Keisuke’s daughter, talks to her mother and fondly recalls the happy memories they shared together. The promotional video emphasizes the central storyline of the anime If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student, featuring its main characters.
The cast information for the anime If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student has been recently announced. Daisuke Hirakawa will be playing the role of Keisuke Nijima, a loving husband who tragically lost his wife, Takae, a decade ago. Joining him is Maiko Nomura as Mai Nijima, the beloved daughter of Keisuke and Takae.

In addition to the main cast, the series has also announced more staff members. Keiichiro Miyoshi has been appointed as the sound director, and Hiroko Yamasaki, known for his work on Oblivion Battery, will serve as the music composer.
Previously, it was disclosed that Noriyuki Abe, famous for his contributions to Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach, would be at the helm of the romantic comedy anime produced by Studio Signpost. Sawako Hirabayashi will be in charge of writing and overseeing the scripts, while Narihito Sekikawa is credited as the character designer.
According to the manga series by Yayu Murata, If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student tells the story of Keisuke Nijima, who has been living a somber life with his daughter, Mai, since the passing of his wife a decade ago.
One day, a young girl from Keisuke’s school visits his house and claims to be Takae, his wife who has been reborn in a new body. The story revolves around Keisuke’s challenges as he navigates life with a grade schooler who possesses the wisdom and maturity of a 40-year-old woman.
