ILLIT to Make Debut Appearance at Major Chinese Music Festival

On the 19th of November, ILLIT shared a poster featuring themselves on their official Weibo account for the upcoming ‘2024 TMEA 5th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards.’

Tencent Music Entertainment, the owner of China’s biggest music platform QQ Music, will be organizing the 5th TMEA 2024. This event, which combines a music festival and an award ceremony, will be held from July 19th to 21st at the Galaxy Arena in Macau. On the opening day of July 19th, ILLIT will be in attendance and will be performing a solo stage.

Since their debut on March 25th, ILLIT has achieved immense success on major global charts and has made a significant impact in the Chinese market as well. All tracks from their debut album ‘SUPER REAL ME’ have reached the ‘Top 10′ on six QQ Music charts (New Songs, Rising, Hot Trends, Trend Index, Music Index, Hot Songs).

The song ‘Magnetic’, which was released, quickly climbed to the top spot of the real-time new song chart on QQ Music within just two hours. The following day, it dominated the daily rising chart and trend index chart. It continued to gain popularity and secured the top spot on the daily new song chart. As of March 29, it is currently ranked second on the ‘Hot Songs’ chart, one of QQ Music’s top 300 charts.

ILLIT has achieved numerous records globally, making waves of popularity not only in China but also in the US, UK, and Japan. Their debut song ‘Magnetic’ made history as the first K-pop debut song to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100. Additionally, their album ‘SUPER REAL ME’ entered the Billboard 200 at number 93 on May 11. Furthermore, ILLIT set a new milestone with ‘Magnetic’ as the fastest female group to surpass 100 million streams on the Oricon weekly streaming ranking.
