Impactful New True Crime Documentary on Layla Silvernail Distresses Fans

A new documentary focused on true crime has recently been released, delving into the unsettling murders of Layla Silvernail, Michael Hodo, and Camille Quarles, leaving viewers shaken by the harrowing accounts.

While there is a plethora of documentaries arriving on streaming platforms this month, YouTube often stands out as a premier destination for true crime enthusiasts.

As we anticipate the next video from JCS (you know who you are), Explore With Us keeps impressing audiences with hour-long investigations into shocking incidents, including the Brian Cohee case.

Their most recent upload from October 9, titled ‘Mom Horrified After 12 Year Old Son’s Confession’, explores the tragic events surrounding Silvernail, who was just 16, her boyfriend Hodo aged 17, and their 16-year-old friend Quarles.

The investigation began when a panicked woman contacted her neighbor, reporting gunshots in the area. Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered Silvernail had been shot in the head.

Shortly thereafter, they found Hodo’s body, and as they interviewed acquaintances, they learned that Quarles was also unaccounted for, prompting a deeper dive into the last people the trio was with on the fateful night.

Already incarcerated for a separate offense, 17-year-old Robert Robinson played a pivotal role in identifying another suspect, known as ‘Three-Five’. The news was staggering — the individual in question was just 12-year-old Christopher Atkins.

During questioning, the suspects, accompanied by their guardians, attempted to shift blame onto one another until the truth eventually came to light. They also implicated another juvenile, Tahj Brewton, aged 16, as a third suspect in the murders.

With nearly 730,000 views, Explore With Us’ latest true crime documentary has sparked a flood of comments from disturbed viewers.

Many expressed deep sorrow upon hearing the audio of Silvernail’s grandmother’s agonizing cries upon learning of her granddaughter’s shooting.

“I hope she’s okay.”

One viewer remarked, “The heart-wrenching screams from the grandmother are unbearable,” while another shared, “It’s always painful to hear loved ones crying out. I can empathize with their suffering.”

Viewers have also commended the parents of the suspects for holding their children responsible for their actions, particularly Ashley, Atkins’ mother.

After detectives left the interrogation room following his confession, Ashley told him that she would also be facing jail time.

As explained by the narrator, “Ashley had a warrant for her arrest, and she surrendered to law enforcement to be there for her son during questioning. She faced charges for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine before being taken to the county jail.”

Robinson’s mother, Erica, was present in the interrogation room as well, collaborating with the authorities while addressing her son’s behavior.

A viewer noted, “It’s rare to see a mother truly hold her child accountable in such circumstances; most are either indifferent or defensive.” Another commented, “At least these two parents are trying to assist this time.”

“Wow, the 12-year-old even led his mom to jail,” remarked a third viewer. “She had to turn herself in just to be there for him during questioning. Kudos to her for that.”
