A warning about a scam was shared on TikTok by a FedEx customer who received an unexpected small package.
In a video that went viral on TikTok with over 3.7 million views, content creator Tammy (thefoxypineapple) shared how she was able to avoid a scam and credited the platform for alerting her.
“While holding a small package in her hand, she shared that she had received a scam in the mail and without TikTok, she would have fallen for it.”
Tammy proceeded to describe the incident where a FedEx employee arrived at her front door, requesting her signature in order for her to receive a package.
Despite not ordering anything, she was not anticipating any deliveries. “I’m not expecting anything,”she stated. “I keep track of all my purchases and I’m aware that nothing is scheduled to arrive at my residence.”

Despite her initial hesitation, Tammy ultimately decided to sign for and accept the package. Upon opening it, she discovered a makeup brush that was neatly wrapped in plastic and had a QR code attached to it. “Typically, I would question what this is and then grab my phone to scan it,”she remarked.
After watching a video from another TikToker, Tammy became aware that the opportunity could potentially be a scam. The video warned, “Scanning the code could result in your phone being hacked and all your personal information being compromised,”Tammy recounted.
“She cautioned her viewers to not scan any QR codes on items they did not order. She advised them to avoid giving out personal information and instead throw the item away, as she planned to do.”
Numerous commenters expressed their gratitude to the content creator for alerting them, mentioning that they were previously unaware of this mail scam.
In additional delivery updates, video footage captured a USPS driver discarding multiple pieces of mail into a dumpster instead of delivering them.
