The modding community has come to the rescue for Baldur’s Gate 3 players on consoles, ensuring that they no longer have to feel underpowered while playing a specific race.
The PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 has had mods available since its launch, but these were only compatible with the PC version of the game. Since these mods were not officially supported, there was a risk of them interfering with your saved data or causing various game-breaking bugs.
The most recent update for Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7, has introduced an official mod manager to the PC edition of the game. Console players can expect to receive this feature in October. This convenient addition allows fans to easily access and enjoy mods curated by the game’s developers at Larian Studios. Some of these mods are already available for download.
Although the selection is limited, a few important race and subclass mods have been included in the service, specifically benefiting one of the game’s weakest races with a significant boost.
The Power of the Dragonborn Unleashed by Baldur’s Gate 3 Mods
Dragonborn can be improved with mods.
Despite being upgraded twice since 2014 by D&D, the Dragonborn race is still considered one of the weakest in Baldur’s Gate 3 due to their underpowered Breath Attack special, which requires an Action to use.
Currently, two mods available through the Baldur’s Gate 3 manager aim to improve the Dragonborn race, which is known to be underpowered. These mods are Dragonborn Reimagined and Dragonborn Reasonable Enhancement.
Dragonborn Reimagined enhances the effectiveness of Breath Attack by reducing its use time to a Bonus Action, significantly improving its usefulness in combat. In addition, they acquire Darkvision and the Half-Orc’s Savage Attack feature, granting them the ability to inflict more damage on critical hits.
Dragonborn Reasonable Enhancement grants them proficiency in Athletics, as well as the use of longswords, longbows, shortswords, shortbows, and shields. Additionally, they receive a boost in movement speed and have access to the Warlock’s Devil Sight ability, allowing them to see through magical darkness.
The question that remains is when the human race will receive their buff. If mods are able to implement a system where they can obtain a Feat at level 1 (similar to the D&D Player’s Handbook), then there will be a compelling reason to choose them as a playable character.
