Inside Out Sequel Reveals New Emotions and Riley’s Adolescent Turmoil

The sequel to the animated film ‘Inside Out,’ titled ‘Inside Out 2’ and directed by Kelsey Mann, is scheduled to be released on June 12. It depicts the renewed challenges and escapades that ensue when unfamiliar emotions like Anxiety, Embarrassment, Boredom, and Envy make an appearance in the emotion control headquarters of 13-year-old Riley’s mind.

This film is a continuation of ‘Inside Out,’ which was initially released in 2015. The first installment mesmerized viewers with its creative depiction of the different emotions that Riley encounters while adjusting to a new and unfamiliar environment.

At the 88th Academy Awards, the film was awarded Best Animated Feature. Nine years later, the creators of ‘Inside Out 2’ have revealed scenes that showcase Riley’s journey of encountering new emotions and navigating through conflicts alongside her existing ones.

Initially, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear all experienced a sudden jolt of surprise when the puberty alert was activated, sparking a heightened interest in Riley’s adolescence.

Afterwards, the existing emotions are heightened as a new emotion, Anxiety, emerges. Along with Anxiety, Riley’s psychological state is also reflected by new emotions like Embarrassment, Boredom, and Envy.

One particular scene depicts Embarrassment dominating the emotion control panel, as the previous emotions disappear and are replaced by new ones, igniting curiosity about what lies ahead.
