On April 29th, Kim Sae-ron shared multiple posts on her Instagram story without adding any captions.
The initial video captures Kim Sae-ron taking a selfie while in a car that is in motion. Additional photographs showcase a collection of illustrations, most likely created by Kim Sae-ron.
In May 2022, while driving under the influence in Gangnam District, Seoul, Kim Sae-ron caused an accident where she collided with multiple structures including transformers, guard rails, and street trees. The transformer was damaged, resulting in a power outage for approximately 3 hours in 57 locations, including nearby shops, causing financial loss for merchants. At the time of the incident, her blood alcohol level was 0.2%, which was well above the legal limit for license revocation (0.08%).
In April of last year, Kim Sae-ron was fined 20 million won after being charged with violating traffic laws in her first trial. As a result of this incident, she temporarily halted her activities. Additionally, in the beginning of last year, she was involved in a controversy after being seen playing games at a hold’em bar in Seoul.
She caused dating rumors when she uploaded, then quickly deleted, a photo of herself with actor Kim Soo-hyun, in which they were cheek-to-cheek.
In response to this, Gold Medalist, the agency of Kim Soo-hyun, refuted the dating rumors, stating that they hold no truth and that they are unaware of any intentions on Kim Sae-ron’s part that may have led to such speculation. They further clarified that the photograph in question was likely taken during the time when both actors were managed by the same agency in the past.
As the controversy emerged, Kim Sae-ron stated, “I am currently in the process of organizing my stance. Once I have organized my thoughts, I will share my position.”However, she did not offer any additional comments.
Despite numerous controversies, it was announced on April 17th that Kim Sae-ron would be returning to the stage in the play “Dongchimi”. Unfortunately, this plan was ultimately scrapped.
Despite citing health reasons as the official reason for her departure, it is suspected that negative public opinion surrounding her return may have also influenced Kim Sae-ron’s decision to leave.
