Not all fans were satisfied with the interview.
On June 25, a post titled “Jae’s Continued Contact with DAY6 Members Surprises Netizens and My Days“on a community forum called Instiz garnered a lot of attention. The post contained a clip from an interview with Jae by Indonesian outlet IDN Times.
The interviewer remembered when Jae unexpectedly tweeted his support for his former DAY6 bandmates in December 2022. At the time, Jae had said:
“DAY6 will be on top of the world someday, I firmly believe this. Though we are apart, please support them and don’t regret it later!”
The interviewer then brought up the topic of a recent tweet that had sparked curiosity among fans. They inquired if Jae was still in contact with the other members, to which he responded that they would occasionally exchange texts “once in a blue moon.”The soloist also took the opportunity to express his support for the band.
Interviewer: “Fans are very curious about it because back in 2022, there was a tweet from you giving your former bandmates support. So, are you still in contact with the members?”
Jae: “Once in a blue moon, yeah, we’ll send a text back, and I’ll get a text and I’ll send them back, but honestly, I wish the best of them, and I just hope them well.”

K-netz were comforted by Jae’s update on his former bandmates and expressed joy at seeing that he was still on good terms with them despite no longer being a part of the group.
- “That’s right, they didn’t part ways because they fought, so of course, they’d still be in contact.”
- “It’s not like they’ve only spent a day or two together.”
- “Ah what a relief, seriously, what a relief.”
- “That’s right, there’s no reason for them to not contact each other anymore.”
- “They probably just split because they wanted to head to different paths.”
- “It’s not like they fought and broke, so there’s no reason for them to not contact each other.”
- “I just entered Day6’s fandom, what happened?”
Despite some individuals expressing happiness with the news, there were others who rolled their eyes at the interview and deemed the question to be disrespectful and inappropriate. The clip was also shared on the social media platform X (Twitter), where fans expressed their outrage.
