Following the conclusion of tvN’s “Lovely Runner,”Kim Hye-yoon took part in an interview where she revealed numerous behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
Kim Hye-yoon has been pleasantly surprised by the success of “Lovely Runner”. She revealed, “As someone who doesn’t go out often, I was unaware of the drama’s popularity. However, I did come across reaction videos on social media. During the last episode, my production team rented out an entire movie theater to watch it together and we even held a pop-up store event. It was then that I realized the immense love the drama was receiving. I never expected it to be this adored.”
Many people believe that actress Kim Hye-yoon bears a striking resemblance to the character Im Sol, who overcomes challenges alongside Ryu Seon-jae (Byun Woo-seok) in their upbringing. When asked about this comparison, Kim Hye-yoon shared that her future career aspirations had constantly changed, but after receiving advice from her mother, she ultimately decided to pursue acting by attending an acting academy. Her acting journey began with a minor role in SBS’s “The Great Seer”(2012) and she officially debuted in KBS2’s 2013 drama “Samsaengi”. Despite her success in various projects, including JTBC’s “SKY Castle” (2018) and MBC’s “Extraordinary You” (2019), it was Kim Hye-yoon’s role as a student that truly captured the attention of viewers. From her portrayal of Kang Ye-seo to Eun Dan-oh, the actress has proven her talent in bringing student characters to life. This was further recognized when she won Best New Actress at both the Blue Dragon Film Awards and Grand Bell Awards for her role in the 2022 movie “The Girl on a Bulldozer” . Despite being born in 1996, Kim Hye-yoon shared her enthusiasm for filming a drama set in the 2000s, which included recreating popular culture items like Cyworld and MP3 players. She also mentioned that the biggest difficulty during filming was battling the freezing temperatures.
Kim Hye-yoon disclosed that she had previously crossed paths with Byun Woo-seok while working on a web drama, before they both landed roles as co-stars in “Lovely Runner.”According to her, Byun Woo-seok is incredibly thoughtful and attentive, making it easy for them to bond. In regards to reuniting with Song Geon-hee after a 6-year gap since “SKY Castle,”Kim Hye-yoon expressed that he is a vibrant and enthusiastic friend, brimming with creativity and determination.
After wrapping up her role in “Lovely Runner”, Kim Hye-yoon has not yet made a decision on her next project. She expressed her desire for offers to come to her, as she has never played a character with a specific job and hopes to do so in her upcoming work. Additionally, Kim shared that she has been focusing on finding personal happiness as herself, rather than just as an actress. She has been enjoying restful sleep, playing games, and indulging in food. She hopes to stay busy and find happiness in these simple ways.
