During her most recent interview, Min Hee Jin discussed the possibility of her removing NewJeans from HYBE.
On May 31, 2020, Min Hee Jin was featured on KBS9 and was interviewed by the anchor.
During the interview, it was revealed that two executives who were closely affiliated with Min Hee Jin were removed from their positions and replaced by executives from HYBE.
As reported, CEO Min Hee Jin of ADOR smiled during her second press conference today. At ADOR’s temporary general meeting of shareholders, two associates of CEO Min were ousted and three executives recommended by HYBE took their places.
Min Hee Jin compared her first and second press conferences, noting that the first was organized out of necessity during challenging circumstances, while the second was held the day after a decision had been made, giving her the opportunity to openly discuss her situation.
Despite ongoing legal action, Min Hee Jin continues to face lawsuits. Most recently, on May 22, BELIFT Lab took legal action against her, claiming defamation and other charges. This came after Min Hee Jin publicly accused HYBE and BELIFT Lab of plagiarizing NewJeans for ILLIT’s debut.
The anchor inquired about the potential continuation of the head-on clash with Min Hee Jin now that ADOR’s board has been reorganized.
The CEO of ADOR stated that the situation remained unchanged. They believed that avoiding the issue would not lead to a resolution and maintained that confrontation was vital. As a result, they anticipated that the situation would persist.
After that, she explained her reasons for wanting to reconcile with HYBE, stating that she proposed the idea in order to make a prompt decision for the benefit of the shareholders, fans, and especially the members of NewJeans.
The anchor then commented that HYBE’s belief was that Min Hee Jin intended to take NewJeans away. However, Min Hee Jin denied this, stating that it was completely untrue and impossible for her to do so.
Min Hee Jin countered, “That statement is completely false. If HYBE has complete control over all decisions, then any action I take would be under their knowledge, making it impossible to take them away. I believe this rumor was fabricated in order to protect ADOR during negotiations, but it is simply not feasible.”
“In addition, she addressed the fans’ concerns about the management dispute hindering NewJean’s potential by clarifying, “I don’t view it as simply a management dispute. Any issue that poses a problem is not beneficial for NewJeans, and I am determined to resolve it promptly. Filing the injunction was necessary to ensure a legitimate and expeditious resolution.”
During the interview, Min Hee Jin was questioned about the challenges of managing a K-pop agency. She expressed the importance of establishing systems that allow employees to work efficiently and comfortably. However, she also acknowledged the potential downside of appearing overly manufactured due to strict work protocols. Her main concern, though, is the future of NewJeans. With their first Japanese single set to release on June 21 and their planned Tokyo Dome event still on track, she is unsure of what lies ahead for the group.
After successfully obtaining the injunction, Min Hee Jin held a press conference at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. During the conference, she elaborated on her position regarding the shareholder’s meeting that had taken place earlier that day.
